Started this one yesterday: I'm thinking traditional Rod,fenderless with suede paint, steelies in wide-whites,big block Pontiac power,slammed... Got most of the chassis/suspension mods done: Rear (not prototypically accurate, but you'll never see it when done)... Front:A Step/Z-notch hybrid... It'll definately be in the weeds now! Hopefully I'll get a little benchtime in today, and get that front in finished up (smoothed and shaped),maybe get it all primed, and dig out that 421SD...

Looking Good Steve, great start. I would hate to even venture a guess at how many of the 3 Window kits are floating around my workroom and garage that have been chopped then put back in the box. One of these days I need to get one of them back out and drop it in the weeds.

Skool, a 32 that ISN'T chopped?? What a TRAVESTY!!! I think ol Hank made 'em that way so's we COULD chop 'em to our descresion!!! If ya used a 1/2 round file ta notch the frame ya coulda maybe got it ta look a lil more prototypical, but like ya said, ain't nobody gon see it so, who cares! I do like the way it's gonna sit with the mods you made! Finish that rascal up so's we can ALL enjoy it!!! You Go Bro!!!!

Thanks,George! Nope this one's not chopped...tho I may get a wild hair up my nose and want to That companion kit,the new Revell 5 Window,I'll almost certainly be chopping that one (and should be starting it when this one gets about 1/2 way finished, followed by the Roadster, then the Sedan, then another Speedwagon, this one with the roof sawed off ;D)

I wouldn't worry 'bout that lowered rear end not looking prototypical Steve-- them floorboards back then woulda done the job just fine-- just like you's got it goin' on Lookin' forwards to seein' it progress. I planned on having a little more done by this time today, but my parents knocked me outta that (sat 4 hours waiting where they told me to meet em to pick up my son for the night, they never showed...they were sitting waiting somewhere else ),but I did get a little done... I decided on the 421 SD and (my 1st attempt at) scratchbuilt headers (from this stuff-see pic),so I got it's basic assembly done and modded/drilled the exhaust port areas (looks a little rough, but it won't later)... And I decided I didn't like the look of the gas tank hanging off the rear,so along with a little frame,I lopped it off (should I decide later to channel it,this would need done anyways). Still wasn't happy with the way the from mods looked,so I took it apart and made better blocks from the lil bit of rear frame I now had... Doesn't seem like I accomplished much, and it doesn't look good to me right at this moment,but...LOL...it's benchtime so I can't complain ;D I'll try and get the engine together, headers built.installed, and the chassis finished/primed/sprayed by weekend's end. More to come ;D

Progressing Nicely Steve. The chop looks great, it's not nearly as difficult as it looks. The first cut is the most difficult then is just plastic after that.
Keep it coming

Yeah Steve, thanks fer postin' some plastic truly inspiring! Makes me wanta get my 34 back on the bench Kinda cool in a way how we even gotta do our builds in faith at times, eh? Gluing them blocks back on the frame, a li'l differently, not real sure how it's gonna look , but as we continue to act in faith it works out. Nice clean chop btw. Later and God bless

Later and God bless DHF,Thanks for the kind words. I knew going in what it would look like, becasue I just followed a tutorial (over at TRaK). Here's two that were dropped using this technique (NOT my builds, but the author's of that tutorial)... You can just barely see the front end mods (not in these pics),and it really doesn't detract from the asthetics,at least IMHO LOL,that's a really good point about faith and plastics ;D Fletch and Kit Karson-thanks so much for the incouragement guys, sometimes that really is what it takes to get that razorsaw out,LOL! I most likely won't be doing anything on it today tho...besides being His day,it's her day off ,but I'll get right back on it after the daily chores tomorrow

Steve:
I have several 32s from Revell (3 window, Highboy Roadster, and Speedwagon) and the AMT 3 window coupe. I am working on the AMT/ERTL coupe and I'm taking my time, but its getting close. Maybe I'll try to get some pix when I've Got-R-Dun. Most of my focus is on Rods and Customs of my early years, the 60s. I do have a few newer kits that I got because I either liked or had the car in question. I just like the good ole days.

I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaack! ;D LOL! All that's been done to this one since that last post months ago is I've washed layers of dust off it recently . Looks like it will still be on temporary hold,as I'm trying to enter a 96 hour build this weekend, and am putting on LOEM's first ever 48 hour buildoff soon...but I have some plans for it Glad to be back and back at it,I missed around here
