Dave, YOU KNOW that's a MODEL CAR ONLY site. Well, if you DON'T count the political discussions. I personally feel they can have it! If they're gonna get all bent outta shape jus cause we posted our opinions and beleifs then let them. I don't care one way or the other. I DID vote for the "your own risk" section, but I bought that up a while ago, and it didn't fly then, so I doubt it'll fly now. I have this site to express my beliefs and my faith, so I DON'T need them. I'm just REALLY surprised at HOW MANY guys on that site profes to be athiests. Evidently they ain't NEVER been in a combat situation! My dad was in WWII, in the Pacific, and HE taught me the old saying"There AIN'T no atheists inna fox hole!" Didn't REALISE what he ment till I got to Viet Nam. Dad jus had a way of tellin ya the truth! Hope he's doin well up in Heaven! God Bless ya Pop!

Somehow I suspected that this was nothing more then "let's throw them a bone and maybe they'll leave us alone!" You start a Poll at 10:45 and close it at 5:45 and you closing statement is "No more off topic post", how about stepping up and closing the garbage topics that are there already? Yet posts like the 2012 post now has 131 replies. The problem is when you attach a loosely controlled public forum to a business such as Model Cars Magazine you walk a fine line so as not to upset your readership. Personally, I think the forum having a direct attachment to the magazine is one of the worst ideas of all times. We all understand the internet give people with no other outlet the ability to offer up what ever opinion they may have on any topic. It makes ZERO difference whether they have a clue what they're talking about or not. They can spew what ever rhetoric they choose and hide behind their keyboard.
Take the posting there about Agape Models. The rhetoric was that we (Christians) were doing our best to segregate the hobby by having a Christ based hobby group. It continued with the MCM Admin leading the charge of professing that building and religion have nothing in common. Unfortunately, we know, unless someone or some event changes his mind where he'll be spending eternity. I continue to be disenchanted with the MCM forum not only because of the way it moderated but the garage that is allowed to go unchecked for fear that magazine sales will be impacted.
What Gregg and Harry have yet to consider is the impact can come from those of us who are being alienated by the lack of control as well as those they make no effort to control. At some point in time they will be forced to make a stand. The current attitude of which ever way the wind blows only last so long before those with any real backbone get fed up and move on. Then you're left with just the fanatics who are your trouble makers, then your forum looks like nuclear winter and no one comes around.
Sorry for the rant, I didn't see Harry's "Effort" yesterday as anything more then "let's see if we can't appease a few members who want to openly discuss their beliefs." To me it was nothing more then a "See the masses don't want anything to do with your beliefs", nothing more then "I told you so!"
Btw, George, as you and I both know, your dad was 1000% right, There are no atheists in a foxhole.
Praise God

Over the years I have learned that our Father in Heaven, HIS desire being that NONE should perish, will cause people to remember things they have heard or read-- believers as well as non-believers. Therefore I know that none of 'our' words (that HE has given us to share with 'them') have been typed in vain. We can only continue in faith to love them, just as we continue to love our immediate family and friends, as well as the occaisional 'stranger' that HE puts in our path. I too was dissapointed in the shortness of the poll, but not suprised. I was hoping to see if anyone had any good pumpkin cookie recipes but God prevented me from acting like them. I also thought of going thru all the 'off topic' posts and pointing that out, as some have done when somebody wanted to do a build off sort of thing of boats-- 'duh....this IS a model CAR forum, dude'. Then why are there posts about what's going on with real cars, the business end of the Big 3, etc? As you said Dave, at some point they will have to deal with it, and their futures. To me, if it wouldn't be printed in the paper magazine, I wouldn't allow it on the forum-- but that's me. I will continue to post there as God Directs, and pray for those as The Holy Spirit directs as well. Later, and may God bless all modelers

Well Said John. As you said all we can do is offer up the words that the Spirit of God has given us to use. God has given us the responsibility to plant the seed. It is the job of the Holy Spirit to water and nurture that seed. More often then not we'll never see that seed sprout and bare fruit while we're here on earth. But, in Heaven we'll get to see the fruits of our labors. Otherwise, being human we'd be shouting to everyone "Look what I've done!"
He's got to be a Loving God, otherwise why would be put up with us. There are days where I'd be like "Ok, shut off the oxygen supply and let's go play golf."
Thank you Lord for tolerating us, we, your creation are humbled by your grace and mercy.
