Did a 5k race yesterday morning in a state park here in Western Pa. The weather was perfect for running-- mid 50s and steady light drizzle. Saw an old friend of mine, Karlie, and we ran/walked/talked together a part of the race. Karlie is a very special Christian friend God gave me to help both of us thru some very trying growing pains. We were talking while we ran/walked, and she was talking about God's perfect will, and HIS permissable will--where HE will 'permit' things to happen so HE might get our attention. Nice chat, but didn't really think too much of it. Did the race. Karlie got first place in her age group, as did my girlfriend Debbie.
On my way out of the park, a good 6 miles of twisty park blacktop roads with uphills & downhills, I was doing a good bit over the 25mph speed limit, again in the steady light drizzle. I came over the crest of a hill and into a right hand curve-- and my 06 Grand Caravan started hydroplaning
. Didn't realize it at first and tried to straighten it out by steering into the spin, but the rear end whipped around I tried to correct it again, and it started spinning around the other way!!! I thought the van was going to roll over! Finally got it stopped sideways half on & half off the road in the wrong lane. Got it started up again and called my girlfriend Debbie to see if I was still alive! Drove the speed limit the rest of the 25 miles home 
Afterwards, I realized just how much God had 'permitted' that I might actually listen to what HE has been trying to tell me for sooooooooo long---slow down! not just my driving, but in so many areas of my life. There were no other cars on the road while 'HE' had me spinning around in circles-- no damage was done to my van-- and HE had my full undivided attention. I'm wide awake now!
