Astoria First Aid Car-Divco/Chevrolet

Yesterday when we were up at the Cruise in The Dalles when a roll-back tow truck pulled up in the college parking lot next to the park. I saw what I thought was a Divoc Milk Truck. Teri's dad was a milkman and drove a Divco for many years. I got a lot of insight on the workings of a Divco before he passed away 3 years ago. Not wanting to let Teri or Hap down I head to the college and discover that it is a Divco but not a "Normal" Divco. It had a shortened '41 Chevrolet pickup nose before transitioning into the Divco body. The guy had some photos of the truck when it was in service as the First Aid Car in Astoria. I now need to do some fact finding on the rig but, I know that sometime in the future this will be on the bench.







How'd you like to look in your rear view and see this coming up behind you with it's lights and sirens on?

Teri and I have always figured that if you took a Divco or any other panel van rod it out, add a side window and turned it into a mobile espresso stand taking it only to Cruise ins you'd have the thing totally paid for in a couple of years. You know how these North Westerners are about their coffee drinks.

I figure if Howard Schultz can do it why not us.
