Shot some color on the Coupe this morning, not really sure why other then to see what the Light Gun Metal looked like. Shot it directly over the plastic no primer, don't ask me why, sleep deprivation makes you do stupid stuff. One thing it did do was highlight all the flaws in the bodywork that still need to be addressed. Hosted on FotkiAt least I now know what the yellow wheels look like with the Light Gun Metal. The color is truer to the cap then Tamiya's color chart.

At least some good came from my insanity. Between TRaK and MCM a lot of guys have made remarks about leaving it as it is and shoot it with dullcoat then rubbing it out to bring some shine back to it. Another recommended shooting primer on the flaws and using some steel to represent weld lines. It seems that a lot of the guys have the idea that Billetproof is nothing but junked out rat rods, which is not the case. There were just as many well thought out, well engineered, beautifully upholstered, shiny painted cars as flat black Rat Rods at the show we attended. I guess by titling the build Billetproof that those who have never been to one of their events don't understand the differences. While Billetproof does cater to the rat rod culture it's also about building traditional rods. Hopefully, that's what this little gem will end up when completed. Btw, here it is mocked up with the tires from the Revell '29 pickup and the chrome reverse from the Revell '49 Merc. Hosted on FotkiI like the look, but I'm don't know about the chrome reverse with the Light Gun Metal. What do you think?

The yellow wheels look hot, hot, hot with the paint colour. Prime up the roughspots and paint it again. Should look awesome.

Billetproof means NO CNC Aluminum parts! Actually, it looks better w/o the yellow wheels, Brother!
