Well sirs, since I had to stop at my LHS not long ago, as part of my healing of this nasty rash I have/had--( who am I to question God's healing methods? ).......and I picked up Bill Cushenberry's Silhouette because it showed a way cool frame and Astros on the side of the box. All I knew then was that I felt a whole lot better about things while I was gazing at all them cool parts in the box ........then I started the out of box thing and figured I gonna build up the frame and running gears-- slide some cool rims and meats all around and then look for a body to plunk down on it. As of now, it's lookin like a 34 Ford body is gonna be sittin' on the rails (but that could change ) Rear wheels & tires are outa the Willys, and the chrome steelies and some rubber are outa the Revell Merky (had to do this pic so's I'd rememembmer ) First thing I started was to box in the frame as I's planning on a goodly bit of it showing, so started cutting up a 'For Sale' sign and gluing it up. It's coming along pretty good-- for sale sign and putty, gettin' it done. 'Nother decision I made was to have no chrome on the engine, but flat aluminum instead, so off came the chromiums. Finally getting a handle on colors, and springs are gonna be yellow, engine and rear end are oranges, black frame, and hopin' to get some flat purple (more like lavendar IIRC) for the bodyworks. While trying to recover from some jet-lag this morning, shot a couple pics of the 34 body and started choppin' it up in me computer.......... .......started with a chopped coupe, but may go the roadster route . We shall see. Later and God bless

Hi John. I had my '63 Custom Car Annual #1 handy. There on the cover is the early Silhouette before AMT aquired it, had it painted blue and had the 427 F.E. Ford installed. The original chassis was a much modified 56 Buick frame, and had an injected 56 "Nailhead" and Dynaflow. Please keep up updated! Don.

Since paint had dried I got the itchies to start assembling... Had a bit of a time trying to glue little parts with one hand and one big clumsy 'paw'-- my left hand covered up with a big honkin' splint tprotect me broked pinky-- kinda like the bull in a china shop thing Had to modifry the 'steelies so's the steelies would fit, but everyhow, got 'em in and started droppin' bodies. Dropped these switchers on & they too bigly fer me, although a big tub might be in me future This here switcher coupe looks too much like a dirt tracker to me, so... ...I made the decide to make this here 34 fit. Gonna be a lot of cutting. Still haven't made up me mind as to coupe or roadster, but I do bewieve a shortened, widened, & sectioned roadie shell is how it's gonna wind up-- giving me the chance to scratch a tucky-roll comfy bench seat. Like you said Brother Don, dat's one 'much modified 56 Buicy frame' & porbly be better to drop some kinda 'T' body on, but I's goin' with what I gots and lookin' fowords to the challenge. Later & G0d bless

John,
Think about this: Shorten the Deuce Tub so that the rear tubs sits "right" over the slicks...
Just a thought!?.

hmmm.... Thanks Wes-- I just might do that. Guess I figured you had the tubs covered & Dave gots all the Vickies covered, so I'd try somethin' a little differnt. I am gonna go with the 34 first--I can see it in my head! ;D If'n things don't work out with the 34 mayhaps the tub will wind up 'right' over them huge slicks. Man are they BIG! Later & God bless

Spent some time cutting up the 34 body-- on me computer!--and seeing how it might look on that li'l buicy frame... Here itam with the body shortened but with the doors intact, and the windshield chopped.......wanted to drop it down over the frame and have the lower body line follow the frame line, but aint hardly any depth to the interior thataway. Besides, it's lookin like a thuttytwo Started adding a hoody and grille housing.... and now I'm thinkin' Prowler ... this just aint happenin So, first chance I get I'm gonna start cutting and hopin' to get somewhere hereabouts. First cut is gonna be right down the middle- front to back so's I can widen the body to clear the frame. Once that's accomplished, and I see's just how wider I'm gonna make it..........then I shall continue Later & God bless

I'd be tempted to shorten the Sedan body, give it small rear quarter windows like a Bantam Coupe. Take the top down 4" scale inches or so and see how it looks. You should be able to do that in Photo Shop.

Just can't resist havin' some fun with yinz guys Since wes & Dave been givin me some fine ideas, puttin' a shortned tub on, and a bantammy sedan body on, I tooked some pics for to work 'em up on me comp: Maybe a double decker 'Victorian' rod? or a really tall Vicky? ;D ;D While lookin' fer something else I found these! Fergot all about 'em . I believe the '32 is the first model I bought about 3 years ago? the infamous Boydington coupe that I stole the goofy wheels from for my Li'l T. At the time, getting back into the models. didn't think they made the good (sniffing) glue anymore and got a tube of the orange juicy type which didn't work and delayed my re-entry. Methinks I then saw the '49r and found some of the good glue nearby. anyhow, lest anybody think I's hijackin' me own threads, I figured I'd see how the '32 set on the Buicy frame. Another one for the future. Hmm... this looks inkeresting After I got all that outa me systems, I put 'em away fer next time and started thrashin' on the 34 coopy bod-- pix in another postem up. Later & God bless
