That is totally classic, the way a '40 Sedan should look. It's the little things that set this build apart of the everyday. Things like the lettering on the caps and the stripping in the recessed areas of the bumperettes. Both are things that should be done but very seldom are.
Fantastic build.

Somehow this ended up in the wrong spot . This I made for a close friend his parents bought new in 1940 . He filled me in on some details . I just don't build with mirrors and spotlights or Antennas . This is a replica . I don't wire engines and plumb chassis , I won't ever see a contest again . Now , can someone help me with locating Ford 4 Cyls. and V/8s ? i went to Eastwood . $29.00 + for ceramic paint is way out of my league . Thanx..God Bless

Period perfect sedan. What did you use for paint? ;D Like Dave said, you've added details that are mostly omitted on the 40's. Don't write off contests. I look at them as a social event. Just build for for yourself, and have FUN! After all this is just a hobby. When you start building to other peoples expectations it turns into work. Please show us more of your builds! God Bless. Don BTW, where did the cool mirrors come from?

Thank you all for all comments . The Paint is MCW . I live in the rural part of Indiana and have to pay a $2.50 surcharge . Thank you Big Oil ! The mirrors I liberated from the Revelle '40 Standard Coupe . Don't get me wrong . I do like the Shows . I miss them . I can't drive and my wife Panics around Tractor Trailers . She nor I can get her past this . We will die soon if she has to face that again . Of course i'll keep posting . Thanx ..God Bless

Nice sedan Dimaxion-- classy lookin' and the little details make it that much moreso. Here's what I'll be working up for the CBP-- a pair Big ol' Blue is/was a toy--one piece body, windows will need cut out. Get to do my thing-- SCRATCH BUILDING! --wompin' up a frame and such. Been wanting to turn some wheel/tire combos on my new lathe, so..... I knows this is a '40 Ford buildem up, but will you guys accept a '39 Ord'? ;D ;D Not sure if'n this here pu is resin or what, but it is hefty and I be thinking it's probably 1/12 scale........judging by the size comparision with the little 1/25 turtleyback I been doing some preliminary cutting & pasting trying to come up with what I wanna do with the sedan on my computer: I'm thinkin' I'm probably gonna be doin' this here-- challenge myself to do a sectioning job and a chop. I whacked the runny boards off, but they'll be on there if'n I do this here. Always liked the nose in the weeds stance on these here turtle backs. I was thinkin' if'n I got real ambitious I'd do somethin' like this--or a half track. Tempted to pre-order the new Rommel's Rod that's due out in September to get a set of 1/24-1/25 tracks. I just gotta build something with tracks Of course all this is subject to change.....might just do a pair of taildragons........we shall see Later and God bless

Like the build at the top. Don't often see them built stock. Looking forward to see the others as well.
