Over on the TRaK forum there is a once a year CBR called the Gathering of the Outlaws. With the start of the CBP I decided it's time that Fletch's Speed & Marine got their Shop Truck built. The search for parts for the Truck began in earnest. Drag City Casting supplied the chopped '34 Ford Pickup Cab. The Olds mill and QC rearend were sourced from the AMT Willy's Coupe/Pickup kit, the supercharger/injector and scoop came from the Tony Nancy Double Dragster kit. The AMT Phantom Vicki provided the Hub Mount Halibrands for all four corners, the front tires are from the AMT '34 Ford Coupe while the rears are from the AMT '28 Lincoln. The trick that RRR of K&R Hot Rods and Customs (KK's partner in crime) used on a build last year will be used for this build. That neat little trick uses the outer rims from the AMT '28 Lincoln Touring with the Hub Mount Halibrands set in center of the wheel opening. Hosted on FotkiThe 2X3 'steel' is on the way to build the frame, still need to source a front axle, not sure if I'll be using one from the Revell '32 or one of their Model A kits. Chances are the grille and surround will be a MCG set for the AMT Coupe. Parts and pieces for the seats are on the way as well. The one thing I have yet to decide is whether to build the truck with a shortened pickup bed or shorten and narrow the flatbed. I may convert both and see which looks best sitting behind the cab. Blessings
