This has turned in to one of those builds that you spend time on when you're waiting for paint to dry, putty to set, you get the picture. The basics of the build are a Jimmy Flintstone '29 Rat Rod, a seriously stretched Revell '31 Ford Sedan Chassis, a Revell Germany Jaguar XK SS straight 6, tires and wheels from the Mystreion. And lots of other bits and pieces from the parts drawers. And way to many kits to list. Needless to say it has a long way to go before it reaches completion. So, here is where it sits today, the body has been painted It is what Plasti-coat calls Cast Iron, still needs to be sanded out and clear coated. The clothe roof insert will be Polly S Doped Linen which is a yellowish gray like that of wing covering of WW1 aircraft. Hosted on FotkiStill to add, a Firewall and floor from aluminum soda cans, RMoM aircraft seats, scratch built 6->2 exhaust headers, radius rods up front, 4 link in the rear. All of which sound simple enough when there's time to do the building. Yes the fuel tank is a Mini BIC lighter with the ends removed and the center sectioned to narrow it up. Your Comments and impressions and ideas are always welcomed.

I don't see it as a "rat" rod!?. It's closer to a Euro Rod. You've taken a couple of my all time favorite auto parts!! The "A" '28/'29 2Dr Sedan Body and the Jag Dual Overhead Cam Six really flick my Bic!!!
Do you have or can you get a grille from the 3.4 Jag Sedan kit? Because, it would look a bit cooler on the front of a Track Nose leading the XK SS 6 x '29 Shorty. Just a thought... KK

KK If this is the grille you're talking about, I'm 99.9% sure the grille is still in the box of the Tamiya Jaguar Saloon that was bought several years ago as a parts source. Hosted on Fotki

That's the ticket! Now grab s nose from one of AMT Modifieds (not the one from the Revell '29) and you've got it!! KK

I'm not which AMT modifieds you're talking about . Al the AMT versions I have are from the last run produced by Model King and none of them have track noses. However I do have a Revell modified at came as a part of a set with a 2 axle trailer that might do the job.

Just as long as it isn't the one outa the Revell '29... it's too tall for the front of your Euro-rod. KK

I completely agree that the "stock" Revell '29 track nose is way to tall. Last night I looked at the Revell Sprint Car/Modified and it's way to small. The Jaguar Saloon grille is bigger then it is. So, I took .225 out of the height of the Revell '29 track nose and think it looks much better. I'll mock it up later today and get some shots of it and see what you think.
Be Blessed Brother.

This is what happens when a treat of Krylon Semi-Flat and Testors Metalizer is followed through on. This is the look I was hoping for from the start of the build. After 4 coats of Testors Magnesium Metalizer and 2 coats of Metalizer Sealer.
