Hi John.
Well after several moves the Ventura reverted
back to kit form. One of the bucket seats and
side pipe went AWOL. Fortunately AMT Old Pro
Nova has the parts I need. I was 12 or 13 when I
built it. I decided I wanted to do a real clean model
and concentrate on the details. I didn't paint the
body except for very carefully picking out the chrome
trim and marker lights. All was brush painted with
Testors lil bottle enamel. The interior is shinier than
the body. When I re-do it, it will be much the same
as it is now.
The T-bird is pictured as bought. I like the color too
but who ever painted it (very good job too!) didn't
paint the hood
. I'm sure a color match is out of
the question.
If I remember you're on dial-up, so Youtube is
probably out of the question. But if you get a
chance go there and search drifter. It's some
fun to watch.
Drifters are kind of like functional tuners on
steroids. Contests are held on closed courses
where controlled 4 wheel drifts (power slides),
are the norm.
IIRC the sport began in Japan. The best cars
are fairly light weight rear wheel drivers. There
have been some successful WRX drifters, and I
think Ford sponsors a 09 Mustang drifter.
God Bless.
Don.
