As you may have seen the life of the daughter of a friend was taken last week by her significant other. At 11 o'clock this morning we'll be having her funeral service and symbolically handing her spirit over to her Lord and Savior for eternal rest.
My daughter and grandson came up from the central Oregon coast to visit yesterday. Wendy was expecting her second child, they didn't make it all the way to our house as they had to make a stop at the hospital. When they didn't arrive by the time we thought they should I sent a text asking if everything was ok. The reply was "we're at the hospital having a baby". Needless to say Teri and I jumped into the car and headed across town. We got there just in time for Wendy to be taken to the OR for a C-section. 20 minutes later, 5 pound, 18 inches long Mary Jane entered the world.
You almost feel guilty for the joy you have for this new life with all the possibilities laid out in front of her while another set of parents have had the possibilities cut short. To celebrate this beautiful baby girl while friends get ready to say good-bye to their beautiful baby girl.
We know that Heather is with her Lord and Savior where she will never hurt again, never question her self worth again always know that she is loved. While at the same time we pray that Mary Jane always knows she is loved, knows she is special and precious and makes well informed decisions all directed by the one who died upon a cross for her sins.
Life is a Blessing, don't let it slip away, it is to short and to precious. Take it from a proud grandfather and a grieving friend.
In Christ
