This '26/'27 Sedan was at the Hunnert Car Pile up earlier this month. The Sedan has the look that just says 'Hot Rod', about the only thing I would change about the Sedan is I'd have built it with a flathead in place of the SBC. So, you guessed it the project will end up with a Flatty sitting between the frame rails. The flatty will get Offy center port heads and a dual carb manifold from MCG. The frame will end up being scratch built from Evergreen Styrene using part box rear end and front axle. The artillery wheels and tires from a Spec-Cast '36 Dodge Pickup will get the nod for the build. Got the chop done on the body, the only body I had available was from the '26 Sedan Delivery, the window panels had already been glued in place and required that they be removed. The window molding did not exactly cooperate when the panels were removed, so the molding will get replaced with "live rubber" that I use to make legs when tying fishing flies. Hosted on FotkiThere you have it, the start of yet another project. Blessings

8-)Ok, now I see.... ;D I saw a couple mockups of this on your Fotki, Dave, and it looked kool then. :oHow much did you chop out of the roof? It looks like-- on yours and the 1:1-- that had some really tall windows! That's a lot of glass in the 1:1! (maybe why it needs that SBC ;D) Looking forward to seeing more, especially the scratched frame Later and God bless

Actually John, there is another '26/'27 Sedan that I am working on for a build on another forum that is still stock height but the body is shortened a scale foot in the rear window area. It will have a Hemi from the Revell '32 Ford 5 Window Coupe with a 6X2 manifold and Chrysler Fire Power valve covers from Replicas and Miniatures Company of Maryland. It is currently riding on the tires and wheels from the Lil' Coffin'. There will be quite a few things that the two builds will share and things that will be unique to each build. Here is the link to the build on the other forum: nobillet.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=hotrods&thread=18&page=1Blessings

Thanks Dave, must've been the shortened no-billet T I saw. The stock height really emphasizes the amount of glass in those things Wow! I got to ride in a stock 1915 (?) T a few years ago and really didn't notice the glass being all that big. Maybe the smallness of the body helps with that. Very interesting how much wood was used in those T bodies interiors. Looking at this one again..... ..... does it have only one headlight? Seems to look like there's only one centered in front of the rad. Kinda kool, but weird Later and God bless

Had the chance to spend some time building the chassis for the Sedan, the frame members are Evergreen .080X.125" (2X3). The major part of the joints are pinned using silk pins they are aprox .026" but do an excellent job of strengthening the glue joints. The Cowl was notched to allow the body to be channeled over the chassis, with the kick-up in the rear and the suicide front axle the Sedan will sit pretty much like the 1:1. Finally, had a chance to mock up the Sedan and get a look at how it will look sitting on the military wheels. To get a bigger difference between the front and rear tires, I tried the rear tires from the Revell '29 Roadster Pickup and much to my surprise they are a perfect fit for the wide-whitewalls. Hosted on FotkiThe engine pieces are on the way from MCG and should be here by the weekend. In Christ

Managed to get some work done on the Sedan early this morning, like a 1:30am. Spent most of the day getting errands out of the way, so, sometimes 1:30 is when the modeling time comes about. One thing I've tried to do over the past few years is to add something else to a model that I don't normally do. For this build I opened and replaced the cowl vent, it's interesting how such a simple things can make such a difference in how a model looks. The motor mounts were added to the chassis, the attachment is a combination of glue and silk pins to insure they remain in place. The front axle taped in place to get an idea of how it all will sit during final assembly. Not sure if this is the axle that will get used for final assembly as I'm not real excited about the notches for the radius rods. I may end up stripping the chrome, filling the notches, then use ALCLAD Chrome to finish it off. The flathead sitting in the chassis is from the new issue of the Revell '37 Ford Pickup. The new issue has the speed parts that I'm looking to use for the build unless the parts from MCG show up quickly. The Sedan mocked up for tonight's SABA meeting. Hosted on FotkiThanks for looking, stay tuned. In Christ.

That had to be a hit at the meeting Brother Dave! Yep, opening the cowl vent sure adds to the look. You's gotta make this one of them 'Finnish' models Later and God bless

Thanks guys for all your kind words, the project is moving ahead, slowly but is still moving forward. The front axle that is in the photos has had to be replaced by one wide enough to allow the radius rods a place to sit. One of those where you start looking at the mounts and realize it's just not going to work no matter how you try, so the parts box axle has been replace with the drop I-beam axle from a Monogram '29 Roadster Pickup. Photos to come as soon as the assembly of axle, radius rods and mounts look presentable.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and all your families.

Fletch:
That is going to be an interesting looking rod when you are finished with it. Are you going to Rat it out or are you going with a color? I like the concept of it, but I'd probably give it a real color coat to make her shine!!!

Dave, chances are it won't end up rat rodded, I like the overall theme of the sedan but not necessarily the finish. I have become a fast fan of House of Kolor paints, they are an acrylic lacquer. They spray very thin and lay down nicely. The only downside to them is that they are a 3 step process, primer coat, base coat, clear coat. Even with the multiple coats they are still thinner then most model paints. The plans for the finish are the use of KBC10 Purple over BC25 Black, here is the HoK color shape to give you an idea of what the color will look like: Hosted on FotkiLooking forward to things to start to slow down after the holidays so I can get back to some serious building. Our first show of the year is only a month away and I need to get something finished. Blessings Fletch
