Sweet little ride, Brother! I was just saying to myself that we've gotten away from posting our projects on here.
I'll be getting back to my bench, here shortly, after being away for a while, and I'll get back to work on the Saltster!
Let's all give Him praise for our talents and lets all get back to sharing our projects here in our fellowship!
In His Name,
Wes

"Let's all give Him praise for our talents and lets all get back to sharing our projects here in our fellowship!"Amen to that Brother Wes! Seems in addition to Brother Dave's talent of chopping roofs, he also inspires others with his sharing pictures of awesome rods That is one well built looking coupe, what with the exhaust running right along the frame rails, and I never saw hood side panels quite like these before-- with just one row of louvres That green reminds me of the Mesta machinery where I used to work The really neat thing about these little coupes that Henry came up with is that they can be such a starting point for rodders and modelers alike. I like 'em both! :)The green one, and the rusty one with the flattie, sitting next to it. I'm more inclined to build a copy of the rusty one-- the cutting out the louvred side panels for the zoomies is just too much ;D BTW, is that razor wire to keep the cruisers in-- or the general public out? ;D ;D Later, and God bless

He was giving rides to some of the kids that were there with their parents. With those uncapped pipes it was loud when he'd get on it heading down the street. As for the razor wire, the overflow lot where the run is held has had several uses over the past few years. It was the lot for the city of Portland's maintenance fleet on the east side of the city, then was the storage lot for Waste Management. Makes it kind a rough looking for a restaurant parking lot.

Got the chop completed a couple week ago, once the gap was filled a layer of liquid styrene was added to the roof and allowed to cure. Got back to working on the 3 window today, sanded the roof and and the rest of the joints, an additional layer of filler was needed on the roof. To allow the front end to sit as low as needed the frame rails were notched at the front cross member. Pretty simple task that changes the attitude of how the Coupe will sit. Once the frame rails are notched the springs of the front axle need to be modified as well. To get the right ride height all the springs are removed except for one. The hoodsides of the Coupe are pretty unique with just a single row of louvers vs the normal 3 rows. The hoodsides from the 5 window kit were sourced for the build. When comparing them to those from the 3 Window you quickly note they are aprox .025" shorter. That amount will need to be added to the bottom of the sides then the bead restored. The 1st official mock-up of the 3 Window, the tires and wheels for the final assembly will not be the ones shown here. I have a set of tires and wheels from Modelhaus that will get the nod when final assembly begins. Hosted on FotkiI ordered a bottle of Studebaker Chippewa Green paint from ScaleFinishes.com for the build. These guys know what customer service is all about. The order was placed Saturday around 2pm my time, within an hour I received a conformation email that the order had shipped. The package was delivered this morning, less than 72 hours from the time the order was placed. The prices are more then fair, the cost for a 2oz bottle was $12.50 and they don't charge shipping and handling. I will indeed be doing business with them again here in the near future. That's it for today, Many Blessings to you all. Peace

Finally got some paint on the Coupe, figured I'd better get it done before firing up the computer, otherwise it would get put off for another day. Found a can of Krylon Jade Green in the garage, it's pretty close to the color of the 1:1 but not an exact match, we'll see if a coat of some sort of Seafoam green needs to be applied over the jade. Hosted on FotkiThat's it for tonight, stay tuned In Christ

Good to see this again Dave--- that's a lot of color! Will look good with the black wheels and chrome. Didn't you order some kind of Studebaker Green paint for this? Later and God bless

Didn't you order some kind of Studebaker Green paint for this? Later and God bless John, you are correct I did order a bottle of Studebaker Chippewa Green. The more I looked at it the more it became obvious that it was too green, probably should have gone with '50s Ford Seafoam Green. The Jade Green was much more green then the photos appear to be. Tonight after dinner I fired up the compressor and shot a coat of Sally Hanson's Hard as Nails Mint Sorbet. It brought the color more inline with the 1:1. Hope to get it out in the sunshine tomorrow to get some more accurate photos. Peace

Dave:
That Deuce coupe is looking cool. I like what you are doing there. That will look nice with the other cars in your stash.
Nice work.
